Max Reich: an acclaimed house producer
Do you remember ‘Lola’s Theme’ and ‘Back To Basics’? These iconic house anthems by The Shapeshifters are part of the soundtrack of a generation of clubbers who took over the dance floors in the 2000s. After Max Reich left his role within The Shapeshifters and scored a mega-hit in the UK with CLiQ, he now returns to his disco house roots with his new solo project ‘LOKIE’. His second single, ‘LOKIE – Deeper‘, is released via Disco Tropicana Records.
LOKIE marks a new beginning
At a young age, Max Reich – originally Swedish but now residing in the UK – achieved his first international success with the band Fused, after which he co-founded ‘The Shapeshifters’ together with Simon Marlin. Their debut single ‘Lola’s Theme’ became a huge summer hit and grew into a true classic. Further hits like ‘Back To Basics’ solidified their reputation as hitmakers. After leaving The Shapeshifters in 2017, Max went gold with the single ‘CLiQ – Wavey’, but his love for quality house music and disco remained. His solo project ‘LOKIE’ therefore marks a new beginning and a return to his roots, where quality house music is central. ‘Deeper’ is a piano house anthem, ready to conquer the dance floor.
